Changes to Learn to Swim T&Cs

As of Tuesday 8 August, terms and conditions for the UNSW FAC Learn to Swim Program “Swim Bright” will be changing.

Please see below details for the updated terms.

ACCESS TO POOL – AS FLEXIBLE AS EVER

As of 8 August 2023, anyone enrolled in a Learn to Swim class will be able to use the Pool facilities any day outside of their regular learn to swim class day and time. Please note, the only times casual usage outside of session times will not be permitted is on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8.30am and 12.00pm. Members can use their membership cards to scan in to gain casual access from the gates to gain access outside of regular times. We would like to remind you of the Keep Watch Guidelines 

 SELF SERVICE FOR SWIM SCHOOL LESSONS MANAGEMENT

  • As of 8 August – We will be launching a new system that will enable self-service management via your own client portal for Non-Attendance marking, Make-Up session bookings, change to class times, suspensions and more! Stay tuned for an email you receive on Tuesday 8 August with instructions on how to set up, access and use your Client Portal.
  • To allow for this change to occur, the last debit on the current arrangement will occur on Friday 4 August and there will be no charges billed between 5 and 16 August. On 17 August, members will be charged for the usual 2 week in advance period as well as any debits due between 5 and 16 August.
  • This will be particularly beneficial for Swim School members with multiple children who started the service on a different day.

INTRODUCING SAME DAY BILLING

  • All memberships and enrolments will be direct debited on the same fortnightly cycle commencing on Thursday 17 August and then every second Thursday from there.
  • To allow for this change to occur, the last debit on the current arrangement will occur on Friday 4 August and there will be no charges billed between 5 and 16 August. On 17 August, members will be charged for the usual 2 week in advance period as well as any debits due between 5 and 16 August.
  • This will be particularly beneficial for Swim School members with multiple children who started the service on a different day.

INTRODUCING SUPSPENSIONS

  • As of August 2023, Learn to Swim members are permitted to 4 weeks complimentary suspension per calendar year.
  • A suspension period per request should be no less than 7 days.
  • Suspensions cannot be backdated under any circumstance.
  • Suspensions should be applied at least 24 hours prior to the start of the session to be successful.
  • Cancelling during a suspension period is not permitted.

NON-ATTENDANCE

  • As of 8 August, non-attendance will be able to be marked any time before 8 hours of the session start time.
  • This has been reduced to 8 hours from the 24-hour notice period that was required.
  • Cancelling during a suspension period is not permitted.

CHANGES TO MAKE UP LESSONS

  • Make Up Lessons will have a (1) month expiry from the date of non-attendance being marked.
  • To ensure members can attempt to redeem any accumulated make up lessons, make up lessons accumulated prior to 8 August 2023 will be available to redeem until 31 December 2023. As of 1 January 2024, make up sessions accumulated before 8 August 2023 will expire.
  • Redeeming the make-up lesson is strictly subject to availability – While we try to ensure availability to redeem make up sessions, demand may occasionally result in make-up lesson expiring prior to redeeming.
  • Make Up lessons should be booked via the Online Client Portal and cannot be booked more than 7 days in advance.
  • All make up lessons will be forfeited upon cancellation.
